Been awhile since I've posted a new tip; here's one I just stumbled across.

I was having an issue with a site using Joomla 1.5's default SEF plugin. It kept wanting to rewrite the URL for the Home menu item as "http://www.mydomain.com/home". Removing the alias manually from the menu item had no effect, as the system kept generating a new alias from the title each time.

The solution was to edit my database manually, removing the alias from the Home menu item's record in jos_menus in the database.

I'm hoping to make some time to actually get a serious start on this site sometime in the next month or so, after which there'll be content added here more frequently.
