Been awhile since I've posted a new tip; here's one I just stumbled across. I was having an issue with a site using Joomla 1.5's default SEF plugin. It kept wanting to rewrite the URL for the Home menu item as "http://www.mydomain.com/home". Removing the alias manually from the menu item had no effect, as the system kept generating a new alias from the title each time. The solution was to edit my database manually, removing the alias from the Home menu item's record in jos_menus in the database. I'm hoping to make some time to actually get a serious start on this site sometime in the next month or so, after which there'll be content added here more frequently. Cheers! |

I've submitted the final draft of "Joomla Cash", so we should see publication in a little more than a month or so. Accordingly, this site is about to get a massive makeover, since I deliberately kept it very basic so as not to present an overwhelming amount of styling to readers for the examples and screen-captures I used this site to produce. So, expect an overhaul here in the next few weeks, after which I hope to make it a destination for all things that live at the intersection of open source and commerce. Brandon Dawson 18 June 2007 |
